KWT Global, an MDC Partners Inc. brand strategy and communications agency, adds three more clients to its leading entertainment PR and event management specialties. KWT Global will work with the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television to support Canadian Screen Week 2020; debut a massive new digital art exhibition, IMMERSIVE VAN GOGH; and manage media relations for North America’s preeminent cannabis event, O’Cannabiz Conference & Expo, including the 2nd annual O’Cannabiz Industry Awards.
Lighthouse Immersive Productions (the team behind Toronto’s 2018 blockbuster exhibition, The Art of Banksy) selected KWT Global to launch the world premiere of IMMERSIVE VAN GOGH. The 600,000 cu.ft. exhibition opening May 1st, combines projected images of van Gogh’s masterpieces with movement, sound and light to envelop the historic printing warehouse at 1 Yonge Street. The Toronto exhibition is currently being designed by the innovators of Atelier des Lumières in Paris, that has captivated more than two million visitors and propelled the popularity of immersive digital art experiences.
“We’re excited to add three top billings to our Canadian roster and collaborate with highly creative and respected industry leaders,” says Tran Nguyen, Managing Director, KWT Global Toronto. “The scope of work for each client is incredibly diverse, tapping into KWT Global’s full suite of capabilities and the versatile skillsets of our talented team ranging from red carpet management, developing thought leadership, and integrating creative strategies around user-generated content.”
The agency brings a wealth of event experience (Canada’s Walk of Fame, iHeartRadio MMVAs and JUNO Awards) to Canadian Screen Week taking place March 23 – March 29, 2020 in Toronto, ON. The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television retained KWT Global to manage media logistics for the Canadian Screen Awards red carpets and backstage press rooms, as well as talent and broadcaster relations for its five star-studded galas celebrating excellence in Canadian film, television and digital content.
The 2020 O’Cannabiz Conference & Expo has re-engaged KWT Global for PR support, relying on its specialized knowledge of current cannabis regulations, industry trends, shifting public attitudes and media landscape as it relates to cannabis coverage. The agency which previously supported the inaugural conference in 2017 and 2018, will continue to develop highly strategic and multifaceted campaigns that reflect the fast-moving industry and evolution of Canada’s leading cannabis business conference and consumer expo.
KWT Global Toronto continues to diversify its portfolio with recent work that includes media relations and influencer campaigns for the 2019 Aurora Winter Festival presented by the CNE; ongoing strategic communications support for Orbia, a purpose-led global leader in specialty products and innovative solutions; and upcoming projects with the Cirque du Soleil brand including the imminent grand opening of CREACTIVE, a new family activity complex in Vaughan, in addition to arena shows for Crystal in Ottawa and St. Catharines in Spring/Summer 2020.
